We have four big priorities in our workforce plan: helping our leaders, carers and volunteers to develop; supporting our staff, apprentices and people on placements; improving our offer of employment; and filling difficult roles.
Careers platform

We’ve developed the Greater Manchester Primary Care Careers platform to promote a sustainable and thriving primary care workforce across Greater Manchester.
Use it to find out more about working in primary care, living and working in Greater Manchester and access the latest job vacancies from the NHS Jobs website.
Find a Job vacancy
You can view GM-wide job vacancies in primary care from the NHS Jobs website on a single page or view job vacancies in specfic boroughs below.
New skills
We’ve been working with Health Education England (HEE) to equip our workforce with new skills so they can offer better services.
Award schemes
We’ve also established award schemes that celebrate the people who’re making a difference to people’s health in Greater Manchester, as well as raise awareness of their vital roles in our communities.

Advertise a job vacancy
Does your organisation work in the primary care sector within Greater Manchester and do you have a job vacancy that you would like to advertise?
Advertise a job vacancy on the Greater Manchester Primary Care Careers platform and it will appear on our jobs page.
GM Workforce Connect
Greater Manchester Workforce Connect is a service connecting employers and people looking for work with job opportunities across Greater Manchester.
It currently connects employers and people looking for work with job opportunities in General Practice.
During 2022 we will extend the scope to connect employers and people looking for work with job opportunities in dentistry, pharmacy and optometry.

By joining as an employer you can use Workforce Connect to find people interested in working in the new roles that you are looking to recruit.
By joining as an individual you can use Workforce Connect to find an employer with job vacancies in the role that you are looking for.
Pride in Practice
Our Pride in Practice training project is helping dentists, opticians and pharmacists to meet the needs of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) people.
